agree with ctrl+tab/ctrl+shift+tab as primary due to being a defacto standard from the browsers. Where did the PgUp/PgDn shortcuts come from?

I prefer monochrome icons... again as I've been in favour of monochrome icons for system settings too, where I listed few benefits. This time I can only speak for my personal preference, current variant is clearer for me.

Some text editors do show in tabs icons for different filetypes (like IntelliJ or older versions of Atom), but I can't think of anything else.

I do use Breeze Dark theme, for me current color of windows is perfect, I prefer it over the new window background proposed by filipf as for example white font has less contrast on current background, but also it is more visually appealing to me.

As for less glaring, I do agree with filipf about changing selection background color, less contrast = healthy eyes. ;) If also icons could be updated with dark variant I would be in heaven.

I want to quickly chime in on this, because it's a common misconception. The opposite is actually true: more contrast == healthy eyes. Low contrast between text and their backgrounds causes squinting and eyestrain and poor readability.

Some people may complain about this theme being not enough dark, but it is harder to tell how many people preferring current visuals will complain after any drastic change. When something works fine people usually don't give feedback about it.

Very long story short. I remember my first experience with KDE and Plasma 5, it was around 4 years ago. After installing KDE I have removed by accident some important widgets from panel, I had no idea how to restore these items. After less than an hour I have decided to remove KDE and haven't touched it till October last year. I was incredibly upset back then.

Thanks for fast response @ngraham. After reading styleguide from the link you sent regarding colors and icons it makes sense to me, especially "monochrome icons should be avoided for icons larger than 22px" in docs, and as you wrote above. ;)

I did register to share my personal opinion regarding monochrome icons. I'ts my first post, so I feel like I should introduce myself first. I am developing mobile applications for Android. I am not an UX designer but I do work with designers and I help them make decisions how something should look on Android platform.
