Michael @TuxDigital.com says he's up for making a release video

confirming my involvement in the release video production

I'd also like to discuss this workflow timeline to make sure that my involvement is organized.

I will not be available for the weekend prior to the release because I will be at a conference between June 7th - June 11th.

I would like to get started early and have the video done and ready to publish by June 6th at the latest so I need to know if the features that are to be included in the video will all be ready by June 1st so I would have adequate time to prepare and produce the video prior to my departure for SELF.

All the features should be in the beta, it's bugfix only until final

I really like the announcement @jriddell shared. What I would suggest as an improvement is making sure that the topics that are mentioned in the introduction are then further expanded in the sections that follow and that the topics that are expanded in those sections are all mentioned in the introduction.

Following the discussion we had on the structure and content on announcements on the Applications 18.04 task, I see a template here that we could use:

  • Introduction which includes larger topics to be expanded below
  • A paragraph for each group of changes per topic, elaborating on the details
  • An "even more" section as bullet points

In regards to the workflow, I have a question as well. I came to this task a couple of days ago with the intention to adopt it and start writing the announcement, as I saw the notes were still only bullet points and there was no mention of someone working on the full text. Were you working on this announcement at some place else? If yes, where and how could I get access to it so I can follow it and contribute my part in the future?

All my work I put in svn directly, e.g. here is the final announcement which can't get much in the way of changes as it has translations

OK, then just a few minor changes (if you think they're important enough to make). My suggestions are in bold:

Today KDE unveils the final release of Plasma 5.13.0.

Plasma Browser Integration is a suite of new features which make Firefox, Chrome, and Chromium-based browsers work with your desktop

Plasma gained the ability to fall back to a software rendering if OpenGL drivers unexpectedly fail.

Shouldn't it just be "software rendering" without the article?

All my work I put in svn directly

Excuse my ignorance, but can you please share a link to the svn sources you mention here? Thanks!

I'm marking the task as done; hope that's OK with you all.

+1, congrats on a fantastic release, everyone! You can probably close the task too. I'm not sure why we even have a "Done" column, TBH.
