As an idea, add a dropdown box (like in the GHNS Wallpapers dialog) to allow choosing a specific category only.

Doesn't this change make those widget uninstallable with GHNS with the current, and more importantly, older versions of plasma?

Since people still can't install the moved widgets via GHNS, I'm moving my Tiled Menu widget back to the category "Plasma Widgets". Please don't move it back unless it can be installed with GHNS in the Plasma 5.8 LTS.

Would making these 2 new categories ("Plasma 5 Clocks" and "Plasma 5 Menus") subcategory to "Plasma 5 Widgets" work? What I mean is, would it list the menus and clocks in Plasma's "Download New Plasma Widgets" installer?

The plasmoids.knsrc is here mentions Categories=Plasma 5 Plasmoid.

Also, could we get a "Plasma 5 Wallpaper Plugins" category? They are not widgets, so it's parent category would be "KDE Plasma 5 Extensions".

What are wallpaper plugins?
Do they need a new seperate GHNS button, in the wallpaper dialog?
Added a new empty category just in case.

As for the other widget categories clocks, menus, etc. it was requested
some time ago to add those categories as sources for the GHNS widgets
button, or at least make it compatible as in such if we have multiple
categories of the same type to show all of the content instead if just one
of them.

Marco Martin possibly knows if that is already working in 5.11.x or
upcoming 5.12 or if that requires a certain frameworks version/ update.

Best case would be to add Menus, Clocks as their own supported categories
and ha e a dropdown at the side like with multiple Wallpaper categories, so
its easy to filter.

What are wallpaper plugins?

You know the "Wallpaper Type" dropdown in "Desktop Settings"

"Image", "Slideshow", "Picture of the Day", etc

There's at least one "wallpaper plugin" called Vallpaper https://store.kde.org/p/1197828/ in "Plasma 5 Widgets", though it doesn't need to move till there's a GUI.

Thanks for changing the Menu/Clock categories. I can now confirm those widgets are searchable via Plasma's GUI. It wasn't searchable earlier today, but I assumed that it was cached.
The Audio category is great too. Those widgets aren't visible yet, but I'll wait 24h and test again.

Yes, I can confirm subcategories are now searchable. I assume it is due to
that we allow multiple categories now for the same type and are able to
handle them.

We can now add new Extension categories as well as finegrain the
Widget/Plasmoid ones.
