Fix kubuntu-notification-helper
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Calligra now provides translations as part of the main source tarball (previously this was separate in calligra-l10 tarball)

The translations are now all in calligra-data and Breaks/Replaces have been put in place to remove the old calligra-l10n-* packages as they contain conflicting files. The new calligra is now installable, however there is a system notification pestering the user to install the old calligra l10n packages.

This is due to a script in kubuntu-notification-helper which needs fixed.

No mention of calligra in the code or data for that helper, so I guess it is doing it via generic detection

i.e. detecting that there are some calligra-l10n-* packages available, and assuming they apply to the new calligra.

If so, when the old language pack sources and debs are reoved from zesty, this may well go away. Or we add an exception to the code not to trigger on calligra.

Either way, making loads of unnecessary language pack debs, to fix a notification helper glitch, would be very much disproportionate IMO.

We NEED new calligra of we are ever to get okular KF5 out of proposed, so I would say that we don't let this issue hold us back. It can be fixed after an initial upload of calligra 3 is done

Uploaded calligra to zesty - https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calligra/1:3.0.0.1-0ubuntu2

Hopefully this will unblock okular

Once calligra lands in archive, we need to request the removal of src:calligra-l10n

Old calligra packages have been removed and as of today the notifier no longer tells me there are language files available for me to install.

I think this has now been resolved
