By double clicking on the cell "identifier" it should be possible to hide/collapse the output of a calculation. This feature is implemented in Mathematica, wxMaxima, Jupyter and maybe in many other programs. It is important to have this feature - the user often wants to hide temporarily large outputs of intermediate calculations.
