I wanted to officially bring these to the table.
(1) The current interface has the same default layout that I've seen since 0.9.6, and I feel that an update to the default layout is needed. It would:
- Have to show all of the relevant windows(widgets) that are necessary for proper video editing users in today's world.
- Be evenly spaced out so nothing feels squished, and no part of the interface is forced to be hidden because of size constraints.
- Would be display-friendly for two or three of the currently highest display resolutions (details worth discussing).
And (2) considering implementing pre-set layouts for users to easily switch to that are already arranged to look like some other big industry editors out there. Benefits are that it would increase rapport and associate Kdenlive with big hitter editors, and that it would also make first-time, novice and expert video editors more comfortable with Kdenlive (without the need to set up the windows themselves).
