Summary is the appstream field for application descriptions which show up in Discover.
For menu descriptions and what is shown on kde.org/applications, see T12810.
This task in particular would benefit from Promo since it has to do with how things are portrayed on Discover.
Namely I'd like to make KDE applications more attractive for installation by just browsing the store.
Example: Konversation and Hexchat have the same appstream description: "IRC Client". How can we portray it briefly so that users might prefer installing Konversation from Discover? What application capabilities can we showcase in less than 10 words?
GUIDELINES
- avoid filler terms like "simple", "user-friendly", "advanced" etc
- main goal is promoting in stores, different from GenericName
- follow XDG specifications: A short summary on what this application does, roughly equivalent to the Comment field of the accompanying .desktop file of the application.
- differentiate between similar apps
