How to change the buttons order, better focus contrast
Open, Needs TriagePublic

Description

I was directed here from the KDE forum.

I'm new to KDE, but I'm an old Gnome user.

I'd like to find out which part of the theming layer controls the order of buttons on a window, and the styles related to focus/hover.

I'd like to customize my system to better suit my needs but so far I haven't identified which part needs changing to achieve that.

Are there any tutorials/docs about how to change the buttons layout, and how to affect the focused button look (keyboard users)?

It's also confusing that not all apps behave the same, for example Firefox Open File dialogue doesn't show the Cancel button on the far right.

After a recent system update some GIMP dialogues look weird, the buttons only look like buttons when you hover over them, otherwise it's just plain text on the window background. If I didn't have experience I couldn't guess that some text shown is actually a button that can be clicked.

I'd like to see if I can adjust the theming to my needs and make them more usable, or at least understand the logic behind it.
