Cleanup

*don't mark '.*' files as hidden on windows
*don't manually parse path string for 'file:' scheme let QUrl do its job
*actually check writable flag for base directory on windows.
*remove confusing comment name.isEmpty() matters for Qt and KDiff3
regardless of platform.
