Here I set a filter to highlight posts contains “choqok”. + +**Twitter photo uploading** + +Recently twitter added ability to upload images directly to its servers, just like StatusNet, and now we have support to upload images directly from Choqok, just like what we had for StatusNet. At the right side of composer text box, you’ll see the attach button. (Kudos to Atanas Gospodinov and Google Code In program) + +**Translator plugin suspended** + +Unfortunately, Google translate api changed to a paid service, and You cannot use it on Choqok anymore. You can get the source code package of Choqok 1.1 here, Or wait for distributions binary packages.
+ +In addition to this release we have a bug fix only release for Choqok 1.0 for stable distributions and whoever just need the bug fixes. that you can get it here. (Choqok 1.0.1)
+ +__
+ +* Google is a trademark of Google Inc.
+ +I’m really proud to announce Choqok 1.2 release, code named “Red Rose” and I want to dedicate it to my beloved fiance, Golnaz.
+ + + +First change you will notice, is in user experience.
+ +The idea came from my friend Bardia Daneshvar, and he was the one who implemented it. ( So, go and thank him for this change )
+ +In previous UI we were using tabs to separate multiple accounts and again tabs were used inside accounts to separate timelines, but here there’s a difference between accounts and timelines representation in UI, and I liked this idea. (Also, We can always traverse between accounts via Ctrl+Tab in this design.)
+ ++ +
Another important change in Choqok 1.2 is some integrations with new changes on StatusNet, We now have a text saying in reply to @mtux, under posts that are reply to me. because StatusNet websites (including identica) are removing @mtux in dent texts by default.
+ +Also when you click on reply to reply to someone, you can see a text like this under composer widget, and you’ll notice that this post will be a reply to someone.
+ + + ++ +

+ +
+ +
+ +
We want to have more space to do important things, reading/writing posts and communicating with friends. So, here we have an option to have more space in Choqok window, you can hide menubar and see a button on the top right of UI that will give you more important actions to do.
+ ++ +
We have two simple but I think important changes for you,
+ +Twitter is shortening every link you enter in your tweet, even if it’s already shortened, So, Untiny plugin will expand those links twice to give you the actual link.
+ +Also there was an annoying bug in Choqok at direct messages support, is fixed.
+ ++ +
There are some more changes in Choqok that maybe you don’t notice at all, like:
+ ++ +
You can download Choqok 1.2 source code here, and build it manually. or wait for binary packages on your distribution package manager.
+ +Soon, there will be some solutions for popular distributions in download page.
+ ++ +
Just like before, you can donate some money and help us on Choqok development and keep it up and going forward.
+ +Recently, We wanted to do some decisions for Choqok road map and what to do next? We found out that after more than 3 years, Choqok now has a growing number of users, But unfortunately we don’t have a good view of them? what distro, what desktop do they use? and what do they use and need more?
+ +For example until now, Our expectation of Choqok users was that they all are KDE users. but recently I realized that we have Gnome users too. Or Until now, all of our efforts was for Gnu/Linux users, however KDE is available on Windows too, So how about Windows? Do we need to port Choqok there too?
+ +So, We ended up that we need a survey to have better image from Choqok users community. And here we are, We prepared some questions that seems useful for those decisions, and here you can find and participate in the survey.
+ +Please spread the word and tell your friends (I mean, Choqok users :D) to fill it up. I think it cannot take more than 10 minutes at all. So please help us to know your needs better, and have a better client.
+ ++ +
Thanks for your cooperation.
+ +Your Choqok team.
+ +I am really happy to announce you another version of Choqok, Our lovely microblog client.
+ +Unfortunately, life is going to make us busier everyday, But I’m trying my best to keep this app up and alive.
+ +And once again, it’s near Nowruz, Iranian new year. So, I dedicated this version to all of my people around the world, with an Iranian cultural code name and specially, Icon and splash screen for this release.
+ +Here you are, Choqok version 1.3 code named “Hajji Firuz“.
+ ++ +
+ +You can see most of changes for this release in this screen shot:
+ +Toolbar for Choqok
+ +We added toolbar for Choqok to make it easier to do somethings, that by default contains “Quick Post”, “Update Timelines” and “Upload Medium” and just like other toolbars in KDE, you can add/remove and customize it’s items.
+ +Search name over Icon
+ +Another change is that you can see first 4 characters of a search timeline name, over it’s Icon, so when you have more than one search timelines open, it will be quite easy to distinguish them from each other.
+ +Also, there are some other minor improvements in UI of timeline bar.
+ +Highlight Post feature in Filtering
+ +In the screenshot, you see one of posts border is red and thicker, and that’s because our Filter plugin has a new feature, You can set a filter to highlight some posts that are in your interest. Here I set a filter to highlight posts contains “choqok”.
+ +Twitter photo uploading
+ +Recently twitter added ability to upload images directly to its servers, just like StatusNet, and now we have support to upload images directly from Choqok, just like what we had for StatusNet. At the right side of composer text box, you’ll see the attach button. (Kudos to Atanas Gospodinov and Google Code In program)
+ +Translator plugin suspended
+ +Unfortunately, Google translate api changed to a paid service, and You cannot use it on Choqok anymore. So, We have suspended the plugin for now, until we find another solution (I hope a free solution).
+ +You can download Choqok 1.3 source code package from here. For Kubuntu users Adilson updated his PPA they can update from there. For ArchLinux users, it’s package is available in Community repository. (Until now, Survey result told us that %50 of Choqok users are using (K)Ubuntu/ArchLinux)
+ +The User survey is still running. Please participate if you didn’t yet.
+ +It’s result will be published later.
+ +You can always support Choqok development via reporting bugs, promoting it, and donating money:
+ +A bug in Qt 4.8 caused Choqok splash screen sometimes look blank. I hope they fix it and release a bug fix soon.
+ +___
+ +P.S: The text in Persian at the bottom of splash screen is a wish we make for each other during Nowruz, that means: “I wish you one hundred years better than these years” (We wish each other better years ahead.)
+ +P.S 2: Special thanks to Shahrzad, that helped us as always with her great artworks for Choqok.
+ +We are happy to announce release of Choqok 1.4.
+ +Sometimes ago we had two bad news, Identi.ca service switched to pump.io software and dropped it’s API, so Choqok is no longer support Identi.ca service, but it still supports StatusNet websites, because StatusNet is not died. About Identi.ca support, right now there’s no one working on pump.io support as I know, so unfortunately there’s no promise on supporting it again.
+ +And in Twitter land, they turned off support for API v1.0 which Choqok was using, and so with this update Twitter support is back to Choqok.
+ ++ +
+ +Once again, Choqok Icon and splash screen updated, many thanks to Shahrzad.
+ +We haven’t any big change in this release, Just a new plugin which I worked on it long time ago, and of course it needs to have KDE notification support too, but with a later release. the plugin’s name is BetterNotify, which you can enable in plugins config page, and use it as described back when I developed it, in a blog post.
+ +other changes are as follow:
+ +You can download Choqok 1.4 source code package from here. For Kubuntu users I hope Adilson will update his PPA.
+ +You can always support Choqok development via reporting bugs, promoting it, helping in code and donating money:

We are happy to announce a new release for Choqok after more than one year.
+ +Big news about this release is that we now have a working plugin for pump.io service. thus Identi.ca users can continue using Choqok. and we kept the StatusNet (Now called Gnu Social) plugin, so self hosted Gnu social services are still supported.
+ +I should thank Andrea Scarpino, Daniel Kreuter and Ahmed I. Khalil for their contributions to keep the Choqok up.
+ +And here you can find a longer list of bugs fixed in this release.
+ +You can download Choqok 1.5 source code package from here. For Kubuntu users I think Adilson will update his PPA.

** Regarding UnTiny plugin:
+ +In this release we replaced the UnTiny plugin with a new plugin(Expand URLs via longurl.org) which works better.
+ +but if you are upgrading Choqok from a previous installation, it’s possible that the UnTiny plugin being left on your system, and while they have no conflict with each others, it will be a waste of resource leaving them both to work together. thus I suggest you disabling the UnTiny plugin in “Plugins” tab of Choqok Configuration dialog.
+ +We are happy to announce a new upcoming release for Choqok after more than one year and half.
+ +We want to make this release more stable than ever and then we are going to release a beta today and the final version next month.
+ +Big news about this release is that Choqok is now based on KDE Frameworks 5 and we officially support Friendica.
+ +I should thank Mehrdad Momeny, Andrea Scarpino, Ignacio R. Morelle, Ian Schwarz, Gilbert Assaf for their contributions to keep the Choqok up.
+ +And here you can find a longer list of bugs fixed in this release.
+ +You can download Choqok 1.6 Beta 2 source code package from here. For Kubuntu users I think Adilson will update his PPA.
+ +Note that qoauth-qt5 is required! Choqok cannot run with qoauth-qt4 anymore.
