This is a similar issue we had in AppMenu Applet, something changed in some Qt version that breaks this...

CHANGELOG: Fixed user switcher applet not updating the list of active sessions at runtime

BUG: 386254
FIXED-IN: 5.12.0

Test Plan

Opened user switcher, reload() function was called.
Started new session, showed up in user switcher applet fine now
