Summary

otherwise we get forwardslashes on windows, which looks silly,
in particular since the user can manually enter backslashes in the address
bar and then have the UI spit out forward ones :S

FWIW, I am not sure I like the trailing slash strip. /home/me/foo/ seems fairly nice to me so I can tell it apart from /home/me/bar which is a file. Should we change that back again?
