I really don't like that icon at all, I'm afraid. It has no meaning to me. It doesn't suggest directionality, movement, or dragging.

How about something more like this:

i would use something on the line of the old icon we had, the grid of dots is very tipical for drag handles, this with every possible direction (maybe also a 4 directions handle one)

(proportionally the size of the triangle seems ok?)

I'm okay with those. I think it would be best if they're rendered in light gray rather than black, so they don't compete with other icons and draw visual focus away from the list item's content. Most inline drag indicators already follow this convention, in fact.
