##Goal
Derived from our Promo goals. We want to increase our community and outreach in more countries, including:
- Brand awareness about KDE.
- Increase and engage new contributors.
- Increase the number of end-users.
##What is the KDE Network?
The KDE Network will be a group of KDE representatives in their respective cities/countries. They promote KDE and it’s work in their local community. Additionally, they are responsible for helping to grow the community, and to act as a liaison between their local community and KDE.
Members of the KDE Network Group are Community Members who have agreed to help promote KDE. They use their knowledge of KDE and their public speaking skills or social networking skills or people skills to help promote KDE.
##What do they do?
- Participate at local events on behalf of KDE.
- Request marketing material, swag, budget for events.
- Promote KDE, FLOSS, open source projects and cross-community interaction.
- Demonstrate KDE’s products.
- Community outreach and act as a liaison for contributors interested to become part of KDE.
- Promote KDE at local user groups and universities with talks, presentations etc.
- Recruit new contributors.
- Onboarding, mentoring and fostering new users and contributors.
- Report on the activities related to FLOSS in their region.
##Where are we located?
The KDE Network will take place around the world, initially starting a pilot project in Guwahati, India.

**Meeting Minutes
21 January18 March 2021**
- The team has decided to use the Malayalam channel for people in Kerala to contact the KDE Network Kerala team. Links for KDE Malayalam channel are: Matrix: #kde-ml:poddery.com and Telegram: https://t.me/kde_mlKDE Network will submit the proposal for a session at Akademy.
- The server for KDE Malayalam Localization joined with Assam’s team (Wrishiraj). Translation has been delayed. Target: End of April translation. Malayalam and Assamese (Wrishiraj’s team) localization have joined hands together; both are in the same server nowKerala team will write a Dot story/blog about the progress of the KDE Network.
- For- Public schools in the sponsorshiptate of Kerala in India are being equipped to use the Qt version of GCompris, we were thinking to make a sponsorship form which Kerala team can submit to the Board of Directors (BoD) and keep them in the loophttps://kite.kerala.gov.in/KITE/index.php/welcome/downloads. BoD can be part of the virtual meetings with the sponsors or be informed about the whole process.For now, Form: https://share.kde.org/s/9FtnakEcrTgrHyjthe distribution has 0.96, but Aiswarya has contacted them suggesting the latest 1.0.
- GCompris will be part of the Pehia Annual Summit. Aiswarya had an interview with the Pehia foundation’s team. It will be part of their blogKerala state has not replied about the latest version of GCompris. https://www.pehia.org/events/summit2021
- Aiswarya will share her experience with the Pehia Foundation.- Total schools in Kerala are 9,854 (6817 Lower Primary Schools and 3037 Upper Primary Schools, Aiswarya, Bhavisha and Aniqa will write an article based on Aiswarya’s interview for Planet KDE/Dotsource: http://www.niyamasabha.org/codes/ginfo_1.htm).
- Article on GCompris will be written by a teacher before 5 February 2021. Later, it will be published in the Local newspaper’s Educational Edition.
- Subin will be giving a talk on 22 January 2021 about FOSS at a college. Aiswarya will ask him to write an article to share his experience for Planet KDEKstars and Kpaint are in the curriculum of Kerala state and Kdenlive is being used for teaching and competitions.
- Universities,Aiswarya and Timothee participated in the conference ICEFOSS (https://icefoss.fisat.ac.in/). It was a paid conference. Videos of talks are available on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_99QDXBKYE). Colleges,Timothee was the guest speaker and Aiswarya was there too. and Schools have opened again in KeralaThey represented KDE and GCompris.
- The KDE Network’s marketing material will be used in Englisharticle in the newspaper was not possible as most students in schools and colleges speak Englishthe teacher was very busy because of Covid.
- Documents and Wiki pages- The Kerala team will have translationining for teachers in Malayalam was not decidedApril/May 2021. We can use those videos for promotions.
- KDE.org is- Aiswarya is working on the next target to translatGCompris tutorial. These tutorials will help parents with the in Malayalamstallation of GCompris.
