**Goal**
Derived from our Promo goals. We want to increase our community and outreach in more countries, including:
- Brand awareness about KDE.
- Increase and engage new contributors.
- Increase the number of end-users.
**What is the KDE Network?**
The KDE Network will be a group of KDE representatives in their respective cities/countries. They promote KDE and it’s work in their local community. Additionally, they are responsible for helping to grow the community, and to act as a liaison between their local community and KDE.
Members of the KDE Network Group are Community Members who have agreed to help promote KDE. They use their knowledge of KDE and their public speaking skills or social networking skills or people skills to help promote KDE.
**What do they do?**
- Participate at local events on behalf of KDE.
- Request marketing material, swag, budget for events.
- Promote KDE, FLOSS, open source projects and cross-community interaction.
- Demonstrate KDE’s products.
- Community outreach and act as a liaison for contributors interested to become part of KDE.
- Promote KDE at local user groups and universities with talks, presentations etc.
- Recruit new contributors.
- Onboarding, mentoring and fostering new users and contributors.
- Report on the activities related to FLOSS in their region.
**Where are we located?**
The KDE Network will take place around the world, initially starting a pilot project in Guwahati, India.

**Meeting Minutes
15 October 2020 **
- We are starting the KDE Network in Kerala, India.
- The KDE Network team in India will include Aiswarya, Kannan, Manav, Sashmita, Subin, Sreeram, and Wrishiraj.
- A separate group for communication is created on Matrix for the KDE Network that will be moved to KDE Instance.
- Aiswarya suggested:
- Awareness about KDE through various programs like:
- Hackathons.
- Sessions of C++, QML etc.
- Ties with free software communities in Kerala during their events.
- Get more contributors and users among students.
- Virtual sessions on using different KDE products (Krita, Kdenlive etc.);
- Sessions on different ways of contributions.
- To bring more professors on board.
- Try to include references to the KDE community in the textbooks where they teach KDE software.
- In Kerala, GCompris is very popular this can be an opportunity to promote KDE.
- We can also use Krita to promote KDE.
- The final plan was decided:
- To roll out the program with Free Software Camp.
- Initially, start remote sessions with Tomaz and Wrishiraj.
- To start the program with FOSS Club.
- Target educational institutes and non-technical events/forums.
- Conduct workshops for end-users like teachers, parents, etc.

**Tasks/Agenda for the next meeting:**
- Develop the plan for the KDE Network India.
- Maintain the calendar for both technical and non-technical events, developers and end-users.
- Start preparing the documents that might be required for starting the program.
- To make a list of items we need for starting the program and if required translate it.
- Ask sysadmin if we can use BBB (Big Blue Button) for small remote sessions in India.
