I'd like to add https://phabricator.kde.org/w/kubuntu/release-management/ - New paragraph at the top:

Evidently there is a calendar function here -- would be cool to integrate that for stuff like this!
Clive, what an excellent idea. Sorry I didn't see this for 3 months! But would be an excellent addition for our LTS.

I'll try again to get BBB working.
Thanks, Rik! That vision was a great start, and I think we've come a long way since then. And I think this is the perfect time to take stock and lay new plans.
Can we get 1. a post to the Council ML about this with a CC to the developers ml, and 2. a link to Ovi's Kubuntu Vision?

I like all but the wallpaper -- unless we have it set to change when there is new wallpaper, in which case if the majority wants it, I'm fine with it.

If it does what ngraham says it does, and it is small, of course we should include it.

Thanks for adding me to all these tasks, skadinna!

Oh, and removing KDE-Telepathy should be done if we're not giving people a working client now. I've not been able to get it to work in Zesty. I plan on upgrading to the alpha once it is released.
Sorry to have missed this discussion. Have we missed the chance to do these changes already? At least Dragonplayer -> VLC seems a no-brainer.

I've upgraded my travel laptop tonight, and will be using/testing it tomorrow afternoon. I'll report back any problems here.

upgrade went well; everything seems to work. Yakuake does seem to scroll and unscroll in a less smooth way, but it still works.

Thanks for the clarification, Rik!
Upgraded my travel laptop running 16.04 LTS then added backports-landing, and updated and full-upgrade. Upon restart, no problems. Played a game of Klondike, used Chromium, everything seems to work well.

After reading this entire thread, I'm revising my thoughts. First, patches are evil. So our thoughts and code should go upstream to KDE PIM.
Apr 12 2017
I vote for a separate PPA just for testing PIM. If it passes testing, we can put it in backports PPA.

Looks good to me!

I never use the Toolbox button either, however I would like us to stay as "vanilla Plasma" as possible, as long as the defaults are good for our users. So I vote to keep the icon as it is.

put together https://phabricator.kde.org/w/kubuntu/release-management/ -- when Simon or Walter have time, they can make it better

Found https://community.kde.org/Kubuntu/Links and put most of them into https://phabricator.kde.org/w/kubuntu/developer-links/ -- some might need moving. I believe sitter built this page. :-)
Changed my mind. Since there is no easy way to do strikeout, I'm just removing bits we've got here, as I find them, until the page is blank -- at which point it can point to https://phabricator.kde.org/w/kubuntu/

This page needs to go away too: https://community.kde.org/Kubuntu/Packaging . I created this page from our Notes originally. I will try to add cross-outs to it so we can begin to deprecate it. What a mess.

Err, I see it's done. Awesome!
Oh. I shall move them as you suggest.

New page, also sub-vote to KCI: https://phabricator.kde.org/w/kubuntu/kci-howtofix/ - please, please, check for accuracy.
New page (sub-page to KCI) https://phabricator.kde.org/w/kubuntu/kci-prerequisites/ -- Please check for accuracy. I removed ~kubuntu-members, for starters.

Ok, started doing that. BTW, useful page: https://secure.phabricator.com/book/phabricator/article/remarkup/
I would like some feedback/corrections/updates on https://phabricator.kde.org/w/kubuntu/developer-links/ which I made from the link in the topic of #kubuntu-devel and some of the links in the old packaging doc.
